My Gnoii is unable to connect to Wi-Fi, how can I solve this?

"Cannot connect to your Wi-Fi. Please check the Wi-Fi SSID / password or Wi-Fi settings. If it still doesn’t work, please check the FAQ in Settings Menu, or contact us at support@gynoii.com . We will respond to you within 24 hours”

If you have seen this message during setup, you might have entered an incorrect Wi-Fi password. If you continue to receive this message even after confirming the correct Wi-Fi password, unplug the camera and power it back up to try again. Note: the camera supports a 2.4G Wi-Fi band, please create another SSID of 2.4G band from 5G Wi-Fi router.

Or please follow the suggestion below:

1) The Wi-Fi SSID/password is case sensitive. Upper/Lower cases will make a difference. For the GPW-1025, the WiFi password should be not more than 32 characters.

2) The camera only supports 2.4GHz band of Wi-Fi. Please create another SSID (EX: Gynoii 2.4G WiFi) of 2.4G band from 5G Wi-Fi router.

3) If you have a hidden network, please unhide it when setting up the camera.

4) Please avoid using special settings to access your Wi-Fi. For example, like a MAC filter, or hotel’s Wi-Fi which requires web login.

 5) If none of the suggestion works, please try to use other devices like an Android phone or iphone to set up the camera. You'll still be able to check the live feed on your device after successfully setting up.

What do I do when I get this message “The camera is already registered”?

Error Message after scanning the QR Code:

“The camera is already registered. You can only register the camera with one primary account. Multiple users can use the same primary account on different devices simultaneously.”

If you have seen this message during setup, it means the camera is already registered.

The camera can be registered with one account at a time. For multiple users, you can:

1) Login with this primary account on different devices simultaneously.

2) Enable the guest account. Guest users have access to limited app functions.

To register the camera with a new account, please delete the camera from the original account (Option>Delete Camera), then register the camera with the new account.

My Gynoii app cannot find camera signal, how can I solve this?

During the setup process, the app will ask you to connect to the camera’s signal.

If you can’t find it, please press camera’s reset button for 10 seconds while it’s powered on. The camera’s signal will appear again within 2 minutes.

 For GPW-1025 and GCW-1020, the camera’s signal will appear as G01-XXXXXX or G02-XXXXXX. (The last 6 characters are the same as camera’s MAC)

For GPW-1025, please don’t plug on the Ethernet cable if you are going to set up the camera with your Wi-Fi network.

My Gnoii camera is offline or video/audio freezes, how can I solve this?

If the camera is offline or freezes, you do not need to reset the camera. It means the connection between the camera and your Wi-Fi is not good. The camera will stream video again when the connection improves.

You can simply swipe the live feed to reload the connection, or follow the suggestions below:

1) In the Options menu, change video quality to Low. Doing so will reduce the bandwidth required and improve the connection.

2) Make sure your camera is not too far from your Wi-Fi router. You can try to move the camera closer to the router to see if it gets better.

3) Sometimes if the Wi-Fi upload bandwidth is not enough, the camera might go offline. You can check if the connection has improved when other devices in your house are not using internet.

4) Make sure your smartphone has internet access, and the camera is powered on.

5) If none of the suggestion above works, please unplug the camera, and power it on again. Sometimes the connection will be fixed after this.

6) If you have just reset the camera by pressing the reset button, the Wi-Fi settings will be cleared. Please make sure to set up the camera again with your Wi-Fi.

How can I pan/tilt the Gynoii camera (GPW-1025)?

The Pan/Tilt function is only available on the model GPW-1025

You can control the camera angle remotely on the app with a finger slide.

If you find the camera hard to move, it’s possible that the camera head has reached the limit of horizontal 355 degree/ vertical 100 degree.

The camera can only move backward when the angle reaches the limit of the direction.

Here’s how it works:

1) Tap the Pan/Tilt button

2) swipe the live feed to control the camera’s angle.(You don't need to hold it)

3) To stop using the Pan/Tilt, please tap the Pan/Tilt button again.

If you tapped the pan/tilt button but still doesn't work, please just swipe the live feed to reload the connection and try again.

Sometimes it might also take a few seconds for the camera to build a connection so it might work if you wait longer after opening the app.

If none of the suggestion above works, please simply close the app, and open it to try again.

How does the night vision (black-and-white mode) work on the Gnoii?

In order to provide a clearer image, infrared night vision will be activated automatically when there is not enough light in the room, causing the picture to appear black and white. When it is bright enough in the room, the camera will return to colour mode automatically.

In addition, if there’s an object sitting at the near front of the camera lens, the light sensor might be affected and forced to switch to night mode.

In this case, please try to:

1) Make sure there’s nothing sitting at the near front of the camera including the camera's antenna.

2) Change the camera’s location a little bit, or open the light in the room to see if it’s improved.

How can I connect multiple users on different devices on my Gynoii?

The camera can be registered with one account only.

For multiple users, you can choose to:

1) Login with this account on different devices simultaneously.

2) Enable the guest account. Guest users can only use limited app functions.

If you want to register the camera with another new account, please delete the camera from the original account first (Option->Delete Camera), and then register the camera with the new account.

Does the Gynoii have an audio only mode?

You can stream audio in the background of your smart device by using Audio Only Mode:

1) Turn on the mode in your Settings menu, and then return to Live View.

2) Press your device's home button or power button, and audio will continue to stream in the background.

How does the Gynoii sound/motion alert work?

Sound Alert:

The app will alert you if it detects sound beyond your selected sensitivity that lasts longer than 6 seconds. You will only receive one alert per minute.

Motion Alert:

The app will alert you right away if it detects movement beyond your selected sensitivity. You will only receive one alert per minute.

How do I change the Gynoii camera's Wi-Fi settings?

Because the camera is able to be set up for only one Wi-Fi network at a time, you must change the Wi-Fi settings when using the camera in a new place or if you have changed your home wifi.

First, turn the camera on. Next, go to the Options menu and tap "Change Wi-Fi Settings" and follow the instructions.
