Chairs produced before May 2003 are not compatible with the current ® Baby Set and the Newborn Set. Earlier models of the Baby Set, with wooden rail, are unfortunately no longer available.
No, only the Tripp Trapp® cushions in the `Silhouette´ range are water-repellent.
The serial number of the Tripp Trapp® can be found underneath the right side of the chair.
The Stokke® Tripp Trapp® chair has been designed for use at tables with a standard height, i.e. between 72 and 76 cm. It is therefore not suitable for use at bar tables.

When In the box, the Stokke® Tripp Trapp® chair measures 80 x 51 x 9 cm. and weighs 7 kg. Dimensions of the chair after assembly are 79 x 49 x 46 cm.
For GS Mark (Tested Safety) certification, the Tripp Trapp® chair was tested according to various standards. One of these is a standard called DIN 68 878, which is a quality norm for adult chairs. This standard involves a dynamic test where 85 kg is placed on the seat, which is then tilted backwards 6000 times. The Tripp Trapp® chair passes all the tests in that standard, which means a load of up to 85 kg can be safely placed on the chair.
All Stokke® furniture is made from wood, which, as a natural product, may show a degree of natural variance. Also, we source our wood from several sustainable sources and we cannot therefore guarantee individual chairs will have come from the same stand of trees. Finally, the colour of the wood may change over time under the influence of UV light and oxygen.
Should the Stokke® Tripp Trapp® chair seem unstable after assembly, we ask you to proceed as follows: Loosen all screws slightly, make sure the chair is standing on a level surface, have an adult sit on the upper plate, and tighten the screws one by one – alternating between top left, bottom right and so on. The chair should now be stable.
If this is not the case, please submit a claim with the retailer you purchased your Tripp Trapp® from, providing them with the serial number (which is located on the bottom of one of the siderunners) and both of the chair's legs, so that they can order a replacement pair for you.
After use, specifically during feeding, we recommend that you wipe the Tripp Trapp® and Tripp Trapp® Baby Set with a damp cloth.
The notch found on the inside of the Tripp Trapp® side rails was discontinued as part of the production process towards the end of 2012.
The clear differences are customer preferences, features and accessories. Both highchairs employ excellent ergonomics and encourage the family to sit together from birth. The main differences are in features and accessories.
The Tripp Trapp® is a highchair that grows with the child, from birth to adulthood. The intelligent, adjustable design allows freedom of movement with both depth- and height adjustable seat- and footplates.
The Steps™ is an All-in-One modular seating system. It starts with a bouncer which can be used from birth separately or with the Stokke® Steps™ Chair. By simply attaching the bouncer onto the Stokke® Steps™ Chair, it becomes a highchair for your newborn allowing your baby to sit comfortably at the table. When your baby is older and can sit upright without assistance, the Stokke® Steps™ Baby Set transforms into a flexible highchair featuring an optional tray as well as an adjustable back and footrest for a custom fit. Later it can be used as children´s chair until approximately age 10 years of age.
The Extended Gliders and their design changed in the first quarter of 2013, so about March 2013.
The first version of the gliders required screws to be used in order to assemble the plastic gliders as well as the extended gliders. This also means that that holes found underneath the chair are smaller, than that of the later chairs.
The second version of the gliders only requires the simple insertion of black plastic gliders/feet through the application of pressure. Thereafter the extended gliders simply slide on from the black of the chair. You will also see that the wholes for the later chairs manufactured after March 2013 have much larger holes underneath the chair.

The EU/UK Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Newborn Set™ is compatible with US Tripp Trapp® chairs. However, it has not been certified for sale in the US due to differing standards and test methods from those in Europe.
If you find that the leg space of the current, plastic Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Baby Set™ is too tight for your child, please make sure the Tripp Trapp® chair itself is adjusted correctly (with the seat plate installed according to the instructions in the Tripp Trapp® user guide) and the Baby Set™ fitted according to instructions in the Baby Set™ user guide. Both user guides for the Tripp Trapp® chair as well as the Baby Set™ can be downloaded from:
On a general note, the new Stokke® Tripp Trapp® Baby Set™ has undergone rigorous testing and had been in use in the US, to high customer satisfaction, for several years before its introduction in Europe in 2011. It was designed to meet revised international safety standards for high chairs (used between 6 and 36 months of age) and to fit the average child. Of course, it may well happen in some cases that a child grows faster than the norm and outgrows the Baby Set™ before it reaches the maximum age advertised.
The Stokke® Table Top tray is made of PETG (Polyethylene Terephtalate Glycol-modified) and free from harmful substances such as phthalates and bisphenol. It is perfectly safe to use with food.
Safety of the child and product safety in general are among the main priorities at Stokke®. We therefore chose to use PETG (Polyethylene Terephtalate Glycol) for the Stokke® Table Top tray, which is a fully recyclable thermoplastic, free from harmful substances such as phthalates and bisphenol. It is perfectly safe to use with food. The choice of a safe material does, however, mean the Table Top is not scratch-proof. Its surface can be damaged with a hard or sharp object and scratches may appear on the surface after some time. This is considered a result of normal wear and tear of the product. Also, PETG has lower resistance to hot water than some other thermoplastic, which means it is not dishwasher-safe.
The Stokke® Table Top is only meant to be used on level, smooth and clean surfaces, otherwise the suction cups cannot create a vacuum. If you suspect the suction cups may not be functioning adequately, please test the product on various surfaces.
The Stokke® Steps™ Bouncer is suitable for use from birth up to the age of approximately 6 months or 9kg/19.8 lbs.

We recommend that you wipe the wood with a damp cloth. If any water or liquid comes into contact with the wooden parts, try and remove any excess water or liquid as soon as possible with a dry cloth. Please note that remaining moisture can crack the surface of the wood. The plastic parts can be maintained and wiped with a damp cloth.
The Stokke® Steps™Chair can support a maximum weight of up to 85 kg / 187 lbs.
The Steps™ BabySet can be used from approximately six months, or from the time when your baby can sit on its own.
